
Allison Brooks Janney, born on the 19th of November, 1959 in America is an American actress. It is well-known for her performance across many kinds of genres, both on screen and stage in a career that spans three decades. Janney has received various accolades, including the Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award as well as the Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards, in addition to being nominated for 2 Tony Awards. Janney was born and raised in Dayton and Boston with her parents, was awarded a scholarship by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to further her education after having graduated from Kenyon College. After years of minor and not-credited appearances on television and film Her breakthrough came when she played her role as C. J. Cregg in The West Wing, an NBC political drama The West Wing (1999-2006), for which she received Four Primetime Emmy Awards. The show won her the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress in for a Drama Series as Margaret Scully's role on Masters of Sex. She is most famous for her performance as Bonnie Plunkett.
