Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles to be a part of a brand new group, One Direction. The other band members included Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to create the group in the year 2010. The band of five was backed by Simon Cowell and sang Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck without You along with Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart. They were one of the best contenders for the competition. However, they came in third in front of Rebecca Ferguson. Harry Styles' group didn't win, but Cowell did pay 2 million pounds in cash to One Direction for them to sign a deal with Syco.
